The kittens have been found!
I hate to admit it, but they were missing for two full days. And understandably, they were very hungry.
I feel terribly guilty. But then I remember, I am NOT their Mother.
Candy, does not seem to feel any remorse. I’m not sure she even missed them. I definitely won’t be nominating her for any upcoming “Cat-Mother of the Year” Awards.
RUBY (the 3 month old pup) was the hero of the day! HOORAY! She found them hidden behind some old paint tins in a cupboard. Luckily, she is a kind gentle natured pup, raised by a cat called Jaffa and so no harm came to them…
I surmise that the wind blew the cupboard door open during a recent storm, allowing Mother Cat to relocate the kittens where she thought it was safe until the storm passed.
In the meantime, a human closed the cupboard door without giving it a second thought.
AND….that is how we collectively lost the kittens for two days.
Tinkerbell and Daisy are no longer.
Upon closer inspection, we now think that Daisy is actually a Tom, so the girls have renamed her – something more masculine.
He was Lachhlan for a few hours. But he has been a firm Ben for a week now so I’m guessing that is going to stick. Of course, the name Ben in this house is closely affiliated with Elves and Fairies so Tinkerbell (who always was a fairy, technically) has been renamed Holly.
And so, Ben and Holly came to be – The Twins.
Safe. Temporarily missing. Found. In a cupboard. While Candy Cat took 2 days off Motherhood.
Humans. Don’t. Do. That.
