My recent shoot for Shauna Zoutenbier of Cuties by Zootys was ‘right up my alley’ – or should I say ‘right in my backyard’. Shauna launched her Hi-Viz Work Shirts for Kids business earlier in 2012, selling Work Shirts for the Little People of Parents who work in Mining & Agricultural Industries, so they can,of course, look just like Mummy and/or Daddy. My job was to wrangle some willing models and take them ‘up the paddock’ for a Farming Themed shoot in their cute little shirts of Aqua, Pink & Navy. After a quick lick with the iron (which for those who don’t know me, I usually avoid at all costs!) I grabbed the still warm shirts, my own Little People, a couple of the District Kids and headed to a block of Wheat Country being harvested ’round the corner’.
My models were most cooperative (except perhaps my own DD#2, who we later learned needed to pee) and we had a lot of fun. I got the opportunity to put into practice some fill flash techniques while shooting in full sun. I had recently had some fun with this on the beach so it was great to prove I could apply what I knew in a similar situation.
Thank you to Shauna for the opportunity to promote your growing business. The photos have already appeared on the Cuties by Zootys website, in the 2012 Queensland Country Life Christmas Shopper and on Shauna’s Promotional Banners for her Markets Stalls around the Central Highlands & Mackay.
Big shout out also to the families & neighbours for letting me hang out with you all morning. A 90min Photoshoot pleasantly turned in to a couple of hours catching up with friends, watching genuine, hardworking country people do what they do best and having a good chin wag :)
