ROCK OUT WITH YOUR BLOCK OUT was an Instagram Challenge I did recently. It’s so good to use things like this to widen my own practice and my teachings. Yes! you read that correctly – I’ve taken my love of teaching (usually little people) and my love of Yoga and combined them into the BEST. HOBBY. EVER. Yay me! Less than ten hours to go before I’m fully fledged. Thank you to all the beautiful souls who have helped me along the way. And now you know why ‘Glimpses’ has been super quiet these last few months. As much as I’d love to, I just can’t squeeze everything in life in the way this time-lapse clip does!! haha!
RAW. UNEDITED. YES. THOSE ARE MY PYJAMAS. NO. I DON’T REALLY CARE.
Forty-nine complete and unadulterated seconds of Summer Time Sprinkler Fun! Pure and Joyous!
In reality we soaked up the water for a lot longer and so did my garden.
There were giggles and tears, laughter and games.
Who else remembers playing under the sprinkler as a child? The only thing that could possibly rival it for its simplicity and entertainment value is the Aussie Backyard Tarp & Dishwashing Detergent Slip and Slide – am I right??
In the meantime I am totally addicted to the time-lapse function in the more recent IOS software upgrades. It’s certainly been getting a workout in our household.
Take a glimpse :)
I’ve watched her Ted Talks, viewed her You Tube and Vimeo Channels, signed up for her online Tutorials and purchased her Picture Story Book for my children. Safe to say, for me, the creative Hailey Bartholomew is inspiring……
Over the past 6 weeks I have had so much fun! Shooting video, playing games, spending time with my favourites and creating – creating memories, VIDEO POSTCARDS and a base for nurture, education, security and strengthening family bonds.
You see, I involved my Little People from woe to go. They are only ages 1, 3, 5 and 7 but our first video postcard has become a little piece of us. A piece of our family ‘culture’.
The statements are fun, sincere, silly and affectionate. We are thinking of new statements of infinite love every day…. I couldn’t be more pleased with the outcomes we have achieved – and that’s before the clip was even published!
Yes, we have been consumed by our iThings during this project, but finally I think in a good way! We have been creative, we have enjoyed the process not just the goal, we have been social and not rude, we have embraced technology and each other.
FYI – little kids probably know more about your iThings than you do! Haha!
My 5 year old recorded footage, My 7 year old often directed and the 3 year old was heavily involved in the audio (teeheehee) as well as the conception of the whole entire project.
Thank you Hailey for sharing enough of yourself with the world that we may choose to be inspired by your example. It was TOTALLY worth it :)
It started as a simple game come bedtime routine between my three-year-old (CeeJay) and myself, but the whole family soon joined in! I wanted them each to know that my love for them was infinite. That no matter how big a problem they ever faced, my love for them – OUR love for them – and for each other was bigger. That there is nothing that is too big or scary to share.
If you want to share your own creative “I love you more than…” statements or captioned photos, I’d love to see them and for you to experience the same joys as we have…
