THE OFFICIAL BLURB:
Childhood friends, Elsie and Tara are from opposite sides of the class divide in the dead end town of Culvert. As soon as possible, they make an empowered dash to escape leaving their boyfriends behind. They find freedom mustering cattle on a remote outback station but scandal and a terrible betrayal send them on separate paths.
Elsie becomes an internationally successful country music singer but nearly dies from an overdose. It is only back in humble Culvert with the help of her old friend, Tara that she can find the meaning she’s been seeking.
Cleanskin Cowgirls is the ultimate story about transformation and finding the meaning and purpose in today’s bewildering world
For many years now, I have been a huge Rachael Treasure fan. I have missed reading her books more recently, being consumed by others and finding my physical time to read more and more limited the more children born!
Cleanskin Cowgirls I didnt *think* I enjoyed as much as Treasure’s previous novels…..
BUT since finishing it I have rearranged three rooms in my house, thought about options for another 2 at least, googled Feng Shui and am looking for a Self-Help guide on the subject!
So although it was a little different to her usual parallel worlds created through her descriptive musings, I read it to the end and it triggered in me inspiration and motivation to learn more. Does that mean I enjoyed it? I still don’t know but I’m willing to recommend it to others.
Tara is a breath of alternate fresh air and some of her wise quotes are worth storing away for future pondering…..
