“Join a Photography Circle”, they said. “It will be fun”, they said. AND IT TOTALLY IS!!
This is my first post with fellow Clever Cookie graduates to create and share a monthly set of images that are inspired by every day life and living…I give you FEBRUARY 1010
In an attempt to teach my children the value of money and ‘saving’ for things they want, we have invested a lot of time over recent months into developing our ‘Money Pig Jobs’ – because that’s where the money goes at the end of the week, into their Piggy Banks! I have very literal children at times…
We also want the Little People to be Team Players and not just greedy money hoarders so there are a few more rules involved:
1. Jobs on the list change. After a job is removed from the list, it still has to be completed when asked. It’s no longer a ‘paid’ job but a ‘helping’ job as a member of the family, eg setting the table, emptying the dishwasher etc
2. If you finish your job first, you help your siblings finish theirs if they need it :)
3. They can spend their money on whatever they like. Usually when we go on holidays/mini breaks away. Surprisingly, they quite often spend it on each other instead of themselves. Once, they all put in with Daddy and bought Mummy a bunch of flowers! (Mummy LOVES flowers!)
Our jobs on the list at the moment are mostly ‘outside’ tasks. Feed the animals (there are quite a few) and watering the garden as well as keeping toys tidy and cleaning up in the bedrooms once a week.
My ten favourites from the other afternoon are captured below :) Be sure to check out Steph’s photos over at Steph’s Joy and follow the links to complete the Photography Circle before you get all they way back to me again!
PS. As you know, I have FOUR children, but I have only managed to capture THREE of them here. Mother’s Guilt has already kicked in over that but don’t think for a second that Miss 5 was lazy and didn’t do her jobs! I just missed her in action……Sorry NinNin!
PSS. There is a fun time-lapse video at the bottom – NinNin is in that!
